On an occasional basis, the Society presents the Distinguished Citizen of the Commonwealth Award to a Pennsylvanian whose actions have benefited the Commonwealth. Honorees have included Princess Grace of Monaco, Justice Samuel Roberts, Ray Walker, Lewis J. Appell, Jr. and Susan Hirt Hagen.
