The Benjamin Franklin Scholar Award

The Benjamin Franklin Scholar Award was created in honor of one of our nation’s founding fathers. This writing competition is open to Pennsylvania public high school juniors. Students submit an original essay of not more than 750 words discussing the modern day relevance of a selected quote by Benjamin Franklin. Winners are honored in person at The Pennsylvania Society Annual Meeting & Luncheon.

The Pennsylvania Society Scholarship Program with the Maguire Foundation

The Maguire Foundation partnered with The Pennsylvania Society to award scholarships to Pennsylvania high school seniors to attend a four-year college or university in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Society is proud that this partnership awarded four-year scholarships to fifty Pennsylvania students. This scholarship is closed to new applicants. The Society will continue to fund the scholarship winners through to their graduation date in 2021.
