2026 Gold Medalists
U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey
and
U.S. Senator Patrick J. Toomey

Senator Casey and Senator Toomey served together in the U.S. Senate for twelve years, from 2011 to 2023. Despite representing opposing political parties, the two Senators built a working relationship defined by mutual respect and a shared commitment to the people of Pennsylvania.

Across a wide range of issues — from the opioid crisis and COVID-19 relief to national security, veterans’ recognition, child protection, gun safety, and judicial nominations— Senators Casey and Toomey consistently sought common ground, demonstrating that civil and effective governance is possible even in a deeply divided political climate.

Their collaboration was not merely legislative. The two Senators sat together at multiple State of the Union addresses as a symbolic gesture of solidarity and civility, serving as a national model for colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

The Society will honor the Senators together with the Gold Medal for their remarkable record of bipartisan collaboration on behalf of Pennsylvania. The award will be presented at The Pennsylvania Society’s 128th Annual Dinner on December 12, 2026 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. We look forward to celebrating these two dynamic leaders who demonstrate that different perspectives, and the power of coming together, can advance both our Commonwealth and our country.
